Man in the mirror

I love you

There is something very powerful about the man in the mirror. Who is the man in the mirror?
The (wo)man in the mirror is you.

We look into the mirror all the time. As we are getting ready for work when we are brushing our teeth, or trying on clothes in a dept. store. Looking in the mirror is usually for vanity’s sake. Aside from the day to day stuff, when was the last time you have taken the time to look at yourself and appreciate all that is you?

Yes, we look in the mirror all the time. As we are getting ready for work when we are brushing our teeth, or trying on clothes in a dept. store. Looking in the mirror is usually for vanity’s sake. Aside from the day to day stuff, when was the last time you have taken the time to look at yourself and appreciate all that is you?

There is something really powerful about looking deep into your own eyes. You would be surprised, at least I was, on how many people don’t practice looking deeply at themselves.

When you gaze into the mirror and truly look within yourself with the intention of going inward, you may be surprised at what you may find and how you may feel. Your spirit and you, staring right at each other.

The first time I tried it, it was a place of uncomfortableness and vulnerability. Like really uncomfortable. There is no hiding the honesty and emotion. I cried. It was really hard to look at myself and say I love you. “I love you Gina” I actually felt as if my spirit was gazing back at me. I now find this regular practice to be a wonderful act of self-love, a way to face our inner fears and to find the truth. To gain courage.

If you haven’t done so yet. I highly encourage you spending some time gazing into the mirror. Tell yourself “I love you” or whatever comes to mind as you are standing there. I’m confident your spirit will respond. It’s like greeting an old friend who knows all your secrets and loves you unconditionally. We all need to find ways to connect with our inner spirit so we can become the best versions of ourselves.

Everything starts with us.
Gandhi and Michael Jackson had it right.

“Be the change you want to see in the world”
“I’m starting with the man in the mirror. I am asking that he change his ways.”
